Rear sway bar bolt to "A" arm - need specs

1978 SC

The roller I bought did not have a rear sway bar. I've been collecting parts to get it installed and I now have everything except the bolts that connect the sway bar to the "A" arm.

Can anyone give me the specs for this bolt? size, length. I have a couple of spare trans cross member bolts and they seem to be the correct size but I am unsure of the length.

The catalog shows part number A N 010 156 3 (hexagon head bolt, M 12 X 1.5 X 70).

I wouldn't bolt the rear sway bar to the A-arm. It won't handle very good that way.

Oh, and I lived in Clear Lake City too, in '74. Brook Forest nighborhood. 16435 Longvale Dr., the house with the outrageous landscaping.

Why do you say that? Certainly the Porsche engineers knew where to attach the sway bars. The attachment was to the banana arm via bolt 17. See the drawing (from PET) below:

That was way before my time. I lived there 1980 to 1990 on Diaina Lane near the rec center.

It's possible I am calling it the wrong thing. It's the stock location and I will purchase the bolt Porsche calls for.

CL has not changed much but the surrounding areas have grown. They are building a large bypass that will take NASA traffic over Webster and dump it closer to NASA on NASA RD 1. League City wants to put in a board walk from I45 to Kemah along Clear Creek (like San Antonio).

Because the FRONT sway bar is attached to the A-arms. The rear sway bar is attached to the TRAILING arms. A-arms front, trailing arms rear.
