Previously chromed. Doesn't that compromise the strength of the wheels? Maybe you were the lucky one.

2475 for old 7s and 9s previously chromed? You dodged a bullet in my opinion.
I have a pair 9s that were new two years ago and have hardly seen the road. They are matched with newly refinished 951 8s. All have new RA1s with the stickers still on them. Wonder what I could get for them on ebay. hmm??

explain why chroming makes them weaker. I disagree with that argument and want to hear your thoughts. By the way I have a set just like that maybe I should sell them if I can get 2500 for them

Thumbs up Re: Awesome Fuchs .>>>>>>>>

I have had my CHROME Fuchs for over 12 years without 1 peel. I love them. They look great and I always get complements on them. Just my 2 cents. By the way, those wheels look awesome!

MB wheels are not forged so that makes it more of an issue as cast wheels are typically much weaker. Forged wheels may suffer some but hardly what I would call no good. I would say for street use probably fine. Track use well if you are using 20-30 year old fuchs for track work well you figure it out!

Dang, $2400 for those wheels. I guess I should send my set to Al Reed and then ebay them.

I don't know, but I may be interested if you still have them in a couple of months. Will they fit on my 87' Targa?

i've seen really awesome fuchs today
some customer's 911 was there for a clutch job

had fuchs.... with 285 tires in the back!!
apparently he had fuchs widenend... but i couldn't tell the modification unless untill i was told so...excellently done, so wide and deep, i couldn't see the fuchs's heart unless i crunched down right in front of the wheel hub....

$2,500 for fuchs that used to be chromed?
It doesn't even look like the recesses have been painted on the photos- aren't they just bare aluminum? In other words you'd have to have them masked & painted on top of the $2,500, plus he was quoting about $160-$200 to ship them in the US. You'd be into them about $3,000 by the time they are done!

I have a set of good 7 & 9x16's that I'd sell for alot less than that... original finish but if you were to get them polished by Al Reed they'd still be well less plus mine were never chromed.

how come this set is so expensive while the other set is selling at less than $600 bucks? Why? why?
If the answer is "polish", still not right. I used to do polish for only $200, any set of 4 wheels.

I saw a pretty rare set of Fuchs at Parts Heaven today; they were 15 X 9s. I asked what they came off of and how much they wanted for them. They guessed that they came off of an RSR or RS and also pointed out that one of them was cracked (so why were they sitting out?), but that in good shape they would fetch big bucks. I had visions of "the deal of the century" for a set of *****in track wheels...
