Unhappy Morning Accident

On the way to our Saturday Morning PCA breakfast and got rearended. Makes me sad to know that after 27 years it has to go under the knife. Not major and of course no injuries but sad just the same. The car was resprayed before so I am going to have some decisions to make. Certainly a driver and repairs will not deminish the value but... not sure if I should cry or be pissed.

Just cry, it could have been an excursion, and you wouldn't be able to type ever again.

As long as things can be fixed, just lump it. Its a lot better than finding rust in places that compromise the car structurally. I would sob a little, but save the crying for rust.

On a positive note be thankful the centre reflector wasn't damaged. I was not so lucky.

What I want to know is how the people who hit you reacted. Did they take full blame or did they act like it wasn't there fault. I'm always interested in what they do or say. I run a landscaping buisness and this year my employee hit a car that was moving with one of our riders. When the guy got out of the suv I told him to get a price to fix and I would pay for it. SO what did they say?

i feel your pain. my car was hit and run in the left rear corner TWICE in one rear..the exact same place??!! the onlty good part to that i think is having only one place repaired rather than two..and actually the second repair with spray was superior to the first. it will be okay..i survived my two, but i sure needed support from the board for a little while!

The guy jumped out and couldn't apologize enough. He said his foot slipped off the brake pedal and hit the accelerator. Took full responsibility. He called the cops, he said he was responsible when the police got there. Never one word about it being anything other than a mistake on his part.
He was driving a small Honda SUV type vehicle. Lucky the tie-down hook hit my bumper and did very little to his car. I went on to our PCA gathering. Good to have a group that understands to look and say "oh that can be fixed." They even offered suggestions for finding parts and such.
