Chain rails teck tip

I have found that after 20 years that any time you 're replacing chain tensioners or you have 100,000 mi. the chain rails are petrified and need to be replaced, all 6. Yes I know its a PIA. For those of you that don't have a sump plate I drill a small hole in chain rail .030" then thread 1' of small wire thru it while installing case chain rails so if it gets away you can retreive it. Trust me it took 2 hrs to get the left lower out when it got away from me

Garage
Good advice. Here's what mine looked like after 107,000 miles. They were very brittle and pitted.
