Where exactly do I put the evaporative expansion chamber on a 70?

I'm stuck. I see a battery box as part of the unibody and the hoses coming through the trunk wall. How exactly does this mount? It looks like it goes in front of the left wheel, but I can't see how.

I am probably missing the brackets if it mounts to the battery box and definitley missing them if it mounts to the fender. The original fender has been replaced by a galvanized SC fender with the turn signal buckets welded on.

On the left battery box, there is a "U" shaped bracket I mount the bumper to. There should be an "L" shaped bracket for the right, correct?

Pics of the affected area to follow. I figured some of you guys are so familiar with this, you can do it by my description .

Diagram of evaporative emissions components. The part in question is the "Half a Pez" looking part in front of the left front tire:

Here's a pic of the car (finally being assembled and wet sanded):

Unless my car is really messed up, mine ('70 E) is mounted in the wheel well in front of the left front tire as shown in your diagram. I happen to have it up in the air with the wheels off right now, so I'll try to snap a photo or two. Not sure if that will show any mounting hardware though, I don't remember seeing any.

I'm playing Mr. Mom right now, so it may take a few minutes...

Does that mean it's just hanging there by the lines?

I thought I might be missing some mounts since I had later model fenders. I'll post pics on my side as well.

Here's the photos...

Of course it would NOT be just hanging there by the hoses! It seems to be attached to the back of the drivers' side headlight bucket. I didn't see or feel any type of bracket mounting it to the shell next to the battery box. I didn't have a light hooked up to lay down on my back to look up at it though. A bracket would have wiggled a bit or something, but it's on there solid which makes me think that metal strap around the bottle is fixed somehow to the back of the headlight bucket. Hope that helps.

On my 73T it just sat in a crevice between the tire and the fender/battery box. No bracket involved. I have added a bracket because it tends to move under hard cornering sometimes...suggesting that a roll bar mount is loose or something similar.

And when that tank disintegrates, you can replace it like I did:
