Surging under acceleration

Hi Guys, I'm new to the list and porsche ownership so I hope I don't ask too many stupid questions. I have a 1986 3.2 carerra. It surges under acceleration, otherwise it seems to be running and starting fine. Is there a more common cause for this? The only other symptom is that on hot days if I sit in traffic for too long it will hunt a little when it drops to idle.
Cheers
Larry

Hey Larry, Welcome to the board. If your car is new to you I suggest you do a basic tune-up. Change the cap/rotor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel accumulator and fuel filter. Just to be sure you might as well change the oil too.
I know this is a big list and will cost some money, but this is wear parts that need to be replaced sooner or later.
This I think is a good starting point. I know someone else will respond with more informaion that you can use.
