Is this a stainless muffler?

I'm looking at a few used mufflers, this is advertised as stainless.

Any reason to believe it is not?

Do you have a magnet? Stainless is non magnetic...

Not (totally) true...depends on the specific alloy...I believe the 300 series ( austenic) is non magentic and the 400 series ( martensitic) is "slighly" magnetic....

better bet is to see what the part number is...and compare to PET...

There is a 911 part number, but I'm not sure that's definitive because there's also a 911 part number on my current Bischoff, and that has rust here and there.

This is a long distance deal so no opportunity to check with a magnet, and to Wil's point I know that's not definitive either.

I've read OEM means stainless?

Todd, Do you know what year the muffler is from. I know my Carrera unit is stainless.
