Do early 911 s have texture on the bottom of the side bumpers?

I am getting ready to paint my new fiberglass rear bumper, and I am wondering if there is normally texture on the bottom of the sides like on the rockers. If so, how far up does it go? All the way to the "bumper" part?

Thanks,
Mike

My 69 has the same texture as under the hood on the rear bumpers, it appears to go to the first curve, where the trim is fixed.

Interestingly the front bumper doesn't appear to have any textured surface.

Thanks for the reply.
Is the entire bottom section textured?

I would say the textured part would be in direct line with the tires and anything being thrown up by it. I wouldn't see a need for it in the center of the rear bumper. I would paint the lower section of the bumper, behind the wheel. You show 2 arrows. I would paint from the top arrow, down.

My '71 doesn't have any of the stoneguard on either the front, rear bumpers & numberplate panel.

My '72 (12/71) had texture on the front and rear bumpers and the rockers.

those responding need to add the fact they are reporting on original paint OEM surfaces never ever been painted before boy scouts honor as appraised by experts and that you have owned it since new, and nobody has ever ever taken the original finish but wipe it lovingly with a dry cotton cloth?

Really I think the painted texture look came out mid 70's to even late 70's , Remember in the repair field we had to replicate what the factory was doing. And paintable schutz on the aftermarket as I recall was something of the 80's...maybe the fumes have gotten to me after alll this time

Yes, my 72 has been repainted so the data is suspect. I'll go with Damon any day. I actually prefer it without the texture.

No texture on my original-paint '72.
