don't feel bad about missing the mm posts - i did the same thing. fourtunatly when i realized my mistake i called them and told them i just lost my job and can not afford to pay for the re-build at this time, that will always get them to stop immediately. it cost me a few hundred for shipping but i did get my parts back. i decided to send the parts to ollies, have them machined and then build the engine myself.

sammyg2 03-06-2006 06:55 AM

If I were you (and you're glad i'm not), I'd be worried about getting my motor back with all the original pieces and not some basket-case with junk parts.

sand_man 03-06-2006 07:04 AM

Another vote for Supertec.

favrok01 03-06-2006 07:54 AM

I am sorry to tell you.......... when you asked for it back they pulled all the parts that were good of it and replaced them with junk yard parts.

you will probably recieve a engine in pieces it will be dirty and it will not be yours... i would call your lawyer right now and prep him.

favrok01 03-06-2006 08:01 AM

one more post and i will shut up .....call the supertec guy to go recue your engine as soon as possible.

i have a horrible leaking smoking running on 5 piston wrong fuel injection parts $7300 piece of MM rebuilt ****.

i am so.. so.. %ucking close to a plane flight, so on the damn edge close.

What I find hard to believe is these guys are still around! You'd figure with as many people as they've screwed, someone would be the proud owner of a pair of cement shoes by now. Then again, this is LA, so I guess the worst that could happen is Roy & the gang get blacklisted at the trendy clubs...

favrok01 03-06-2006 08:12 AM

if someone pays for my flight i will follow him home and beat him with a bat.

been meaning to congratulate you, as I saw your name in the recent registration list for pca...

anyways..
lots of good guys local through PCA that can do your motor and do it well.

Greg johnson
Allen johnsen
Pat Moyle

more too...
if you do get it shipped back you can get plenty of good referrals from all the local PCA guys.

although I love supertec, and its absolutely my 1st pick if you go that route. In fact here is my supertec 2.0

I just don't get it either. So many reputable businesses with an excellent product and/or service to sell, close their doors every day, yet these @zzholes are still in business! As a neophyte, I book marked their website and read their ads in the magazines...I guess I was just too much of a DIYer to call them. Then I stumbled on to all of the bad press!

This made me laugh...HARD!!!! Don't misunderstand, though, I'm not laughing at you or your situation, just the imagery of Soprano style revenge!!!!

I've steered several people away from them who did not know about the Pelican BBS. Their (MMs') advertising and their web site are impressive. If you don't know about Pelican it is almost impossible not to consider them.

After I gor my car, I knew nothing of TRE, Supertec, etc, etc, BUT I had heard of MM through their ads, and if I'd needed something I'd probably have called them. Fortunately I didn't.

I've never dealt with these guys but from what everyone says, you're best bet is to fly down, pick it up or ship it you're self otherwise you won't know what they are sending back...

This might be useful - you can serve them for your law suits with their agent (a wife?)...

Yeah, but how do you know it did not get cannibalized while in their hands???

We always wonder how MM stays in business, yet last time this was brought up it was discussed that MM is a paid sponsor on Rennlist, they even have advertisement on rennlist's site.
I posted on rennlist about it and got basically slammed. A couple of people carefully agreed with me about it, but most either had nothing to say or they supported MM.
Some even "privately" told me to mind my own business because I was sticking my nose in JD's business.
Mr. Dunkle was not one of those who responded either on the list or in private so I do't know his position on this matter.

It appeared that according to several of the rennlist "regulars" if it helps pay the Rennlist bills we are suppose to look the other way even if there is a chance a fellow porsche owner might get screwed in the process.
My Rennlist subscription has expired and I have thought about renewing it several times, but as long as MM's name is still on the website I will not do that.

Update!

My breathing has calmed down a bit since my late night scare! Thanks to everyone...I appreciate it! I have discussed with another reputable gentlemen my motor situation. This guy you all know and trust as I do. So....if I was told the truth...I called Motor Meister today 3/6 and they said they do not have my engine yet. It was shipped on 2/27 from oklahoma...so I hope..no PRAY its not there. I am in the frantic work of contacting the freight company as I type this :) ...they asked where I want the motor to go and I told them anywhere but where it was going...the guy laughed at me. Anyway I am trying to make sure it does not end up at MM. Rather have them drop it off in the middle of anywhere other than there after all I have heard. But as suggested my engine rebuilder may pick it up for me:) This forum and community really shows how priceless it is on issues like this. Where would we be without the internet to bring all these great people together? Now that I think about it.. the one draw back of the net is that MM has a web site! How are these guys still walking around? (in any aspect?!?!?) Thanks guys I will keep you all updated!

Rich76_911s 03-06-2006 11:39 AM

You might want to edit that web page too, get rid of that support of MM part. It has to go! ! ! Good luck with the rebuild.

Rich
