Apologies & Thanks To Wayne & Mysterytrain
Regarding my wall-eyed fog lamps on my 82 SV - They are indeed monted backwards. So much for the "research" I did (I re-researched and found nothing, then asked my mechanic, who chuckled "yeah, they're backwards").
He also pointed out that one of the previous three owners had updated the headlamps to H5's and the front valence to the one used on the last year(s) of the Carrera. The painter will reinstall the fogs on the proper sides when he reassembles the car. I'm surprised that, at the angle they are, the light pattern is pretty decent. I really enjoy this forum, and have learned that I'd better be damned certain of what I think I know before I "Wayne, Wayne, Wayne!, anybody again! My apologies & thanks, fellas.

Actually with yellow lens these would work great in a heavy snow storm. This is where you can’t see much in front and are just following the edge of the plowed area. Works great at 10 mph and headlights off.
The art of driving in a blizzard is to angle the lights to the curb-side and shield the light from shining up. Some really bright flashing tail lights (alternating red and yellow) are also important to keep 50 mph SUVs out of your engine. Best, Grady
