Can't Open Engine Hood...Help

I just fitted a Getty RS rear wing on my 86 911. Now I can't get the rear wing/hood to release. I think that if the release cable is cut it will release the latch. Is that correct? Is there another way to release the latch manually? I know the front hood can be released after drilling a hole in the bumper. Its not a big issue until I need to add oil or something.

Any information will be GREATLY appreciated.

Have someone pull on the handle and then "bounce" on the decklid a little. It will probably finally pop. It might take a few minutes. I had this happen on both ends while adjusting, before.

BTw, the trick to fitting panels is to losen the latch plate, hold the handle (door, trunk, etc) in the open position, slowly close the panel to the desired fit and then gentley (while still holding it unlatched) open the panel. Then tighten the latch in its place.

Of course I learned this after I already did my whole car the hard way. Trial and error.

I believe you can reach the cable from underneath the bumper. I had to adjust this a while back. I could be wrong though, foggy memory.
