Wevo shift coupler install advice
I'm installing the Wevo shift coupler and replacing the shift rod bushing and shifter bushing this weekend and looking for any additional advice. I've got Wayne's book and did a search here, so I think I'm in pretty good shape, just curious if anyone here has any secrets they'd like to share that might help. Most interested in any tips or tricks for the Wevo shift coupler install.
Thanks in advance, Sean

The WEVO piece installs just like the factory item. Just be sure to mark the shift rod at the trans so your adjustment will be close when you finish the job. Lot's of fiddling if not.
post an update with your opinion if you would. I am thinking abou this upgrade. Thanks,

Wayne had the best advice to mark the shift rod prior to taking off the old coupler. The rod moves and its hard to get it set right if you dont mark it first. I forgot to mark my Stromski coupler and it took me like 10 tries to get the shift rod lined up correctly in the coupler.

jvreed,
How does the Stomski compare to the WEVO? I think price is about the same, isn't it? I tell you, if there was one thing about our cars I would re-engineer, it is the sloppy STOCK shifting mechanism. I can't afford a WEVO gated setup.

The shift coupler really does take a good bit of the slop out of the shifting but it is not a cure all. I suggest blueprinting (tightening) your shifter when you install the wevo coupler.
