I'm wondering how a 930 tranny would hold up to repeated burnouts.
|
It is hard to resist lighting them up every now and again. To avoid torquing the tranny too much, I like to roll my way into a smoking donut.

I've seen some pretty cool donuts done in a 911, just not planed.

Geez, part of the fun of horesepower is burnouts every now and again. Just be sure to preload the running gear as another poster mentioned, you're pretty safe in 1st if you're just looking for a little smoke and tail-hang on launch in a pre-G50. Hold the handbrake, little load on the clutch, rev her up and let the rest of that clutch go as your right foot goes to the floor.
It's a trick with a 915 tranny, takes practice. The G50-50 930 I'm running now is a little...er...easier... You CAN'T burnout a 911 if you're afraid of breaking it... |
