The Carrera is Turbo'ed

Project complete minus a few tuning tweaks. Just 2 months ago the carrera had a strung 3.2 engine in it. Now after allot of work and advice from people on the board and Rarlyl8, the motor is in. Motor is pretty mild, K27, 1bar spring, cams -???, mild port work, euro injectors, euro exhaust with 3' in duel 2.5' out Magnaflow muffler Take a look and let me know what you Think.

As far as I know it has stock pistons in it, I don't know as much about the motor as I would like or need to know. It is a pretty new built engine but I have never talked to the guy who put it together. To make a long story short, a Garage owner bought this motor to put in his 930, after is was ready to go in he came into money problems and needed cash, I then bought the motor.

Oh, I misunderstood, I presumed you put a turbo on the 3.2 and was wondering how you were going to get it to live at 1 bar without internal mods. Sorry.

Looks like it oughta scoot.

Yes, it is a 78 3.3 930 engine, as far as the mods, I think what I have listed is true other than knowing about the cams. The previous owner said he thought them to be stock, but with the markings on them I'm not sure. We posted picture of the cams on here a while back to see if anyone knew what they may be but we had no luck. here is the picture again.

Sure,
Here is a good picture I took last night. And if your looking for loud, this is not what you want. Very nice mellow sound. And it is a straight thru muffler.

What year is your Carrera, does it have G50 or 915? How do you like personality change of your car? Have you updated suspension/brakes? You might need them...soon ;-). Otherwise, congrats on your project and welcome to the turbo world!

It's a 84 wide body, the previous owner tracked the car and spent a ton of money on it to set it up Motor, brakes & suspension. I pulled out the high dollar 3.2 to replace it with this turbo motor, still not sure if it was the right thing to do as I am still working out the yuning bugs on it. As far as the transmission, it out of a 491 wide body car as well, it has just been built and I guess time will tell if it will hold up or not.

This is only the beginning. Because the 911 is a Carrera it is only logical to use the Motronic EFI it came with. The plan is to get used to the characteristics of the turbo motor and then bump it up with EFI.
The engine that came out of this car was a nervous beast, high strung and about 290HP. Turbos are docile so there is a marked difference in the personality of the two.

Question to the Carrera/Turbo guys - will the stock Carrera EFI support 350-400HP and a turbo with a simple chip change?

I ran with the stock Carrera EFI up to 400HP without any problems. This was just with a re-mapped Protomotive CHIP and Protomotive fuel press regulator and stock injectors!

I still run the stock EFI system, however, I'm now using 944t injectors.

Stock Carrera injection will work? I can hear the Tripster cashing out his pay pal account right now.
The compression ratio on the 930 engine is stock 7:1 as far as we know.
Right now there are some CIS issues to iron out but we hope to get his car on the road this weekend. The Tail of the Dragon is calling!
