Clutch Positioning Lever Spring

I replaced my clutch cable yesterday, and that went fine (had to beak the clevis to get the pin out), but now I am having a bit of trouble with the adjustment. After getting the 1.2/1.0 mm set right, the gap goes to zero after working the clutch pedal. I can move and wiggle the clutch positioning lever a bit and get the gap back, but it will not stay that way. It looks like the spring that pulls the lever back is not pulling hard enough to get it all of the way back to maintain a gap. Do I need a new spring, or is something else wrong? The clutch worked fine before I replaced the cable, but it did not have the proper gap on the lever then either. I found one thread on this subject from several years ago, but I would like to hear some more thoughts if anyone has had this issue come up.

Hey, I got it. Evidently I had the cable in a bit of a bind. I unhooked the cable at both ends, tied the clutch pedal all the way up (fully released position), attached the cable end at the clutch, and then adjusted the clevis position on the threaded end of the cable until it was exactly the right length to fit perfectly, tightened the lock nut and reinstalled the pin. I had to unscrew the clevis somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 inch. The adjustment now works and everything is good.
