NOS Early Hood Crest - what's it worth?

Anyone care to guess what this will bring on Ebay?

I bet you will get good money for it. These originals are rare these days. I have heard of one experience of a person that sold one of these on EBay for $500.00. We shall see what happens. Let me know I have one to sale possibly. ; )

i just sold one for 50.00! > i did have a small rock chip though..<

your is interesting though, as all of the originals i have seen werent that goldish color, but more of a brownish bronze, and the strip is much darker. You can see mine in the classifieds under "huge garage sale".

Yours would have brought at least $150 on Ebay. Yes, the color difference is interesting. But consider that all of the others we've ever seen spent many years riding around on hoods, sitting in the sun, being washed etc.

I'm still shocked at the bidding on this thing... thrilled, but shocked.

Yeah, just ask him not to put in Ebay until mine has closed.

I think you've already set the record for these 901 hood badges.

A couple of weeks ago someone stole my passenger door trim, they also tried to steal my hood badge unsuccessfully but they bent it. I got it mostly straightened out but it lost a little enamel in the process. What a shame because it was in really nice shape.

I don't think they knew the value of it. I think it was just some kids that thought it was funny.

Judging by how eBay bids go, this may break through $800 in the last seconds. And I'll betcha it'll be a German buyer who wins it. Either that or Jerry Seinfeld.

Lee's looks original to me. Mine just has 32 years of sun and sand. It actually appears more gold in real life. I would imagine that it would have looked like Lees' 32 years ago before the red faded and the brass tarnished.

Lee,

This ought to fund the kid's college fund quite nicely when the auction ends.

Bobby,

That really sucks to have your car vandalized, especially such a nice original badge with patina. Looks like it is time for refurbish by the same person that did Larry's hood badge.
