Targa wind noise solutions...
I have read alot of the posts about different solutions pelicanites have tried to minimize wind noise on their targa tops. I just want to know if anyone has tried these solutions with any success.
- someone mentioned putting weatherstipping material along the back top portion of the windshield metal. Has anyone tried this successfully? if so, what weatherstip material did you use? - someone else mentioned placing a magnetic strip to bridge the gap between the targa top and the top portion of the windshield. Has this one been tried with any success? Any other ideas? Thanks

Second idea will probably help some. Make sure the top is in good shape and that the seals are all good and that the top fits well. Other than that... Turn the radio up, keep the windows open... Get a coupe. That's all I can offer!

A targa is simply not a targa w/o the windnoise IMO.... Id get a loud exhaust system.

When the top is in good shape there's not that much wind noise, but getting it right isn't easy.

I don't have a Targa, but someone posted this picture before and I saved it. Those pieces of cardboard in there are cut from Fedex envelopes. The guy was adamant that something about the thickness of them and the relative slippery-ness of the finish of them was just perfect to stop squeeking. YMMV. Good Luck!

My top made more noise then I thought should be expected...It was really just the top not being "tuned" to it's best shape, I repositioned the clamps to fit snugly when the top was opened and the noise went away (well not all it is still a targa)....once every year or so I may have to go through this, which is really no big deal.

Here's a cool way to find out where your roof fit is less than perfect:
Park your car outside. Turn on the engine, turn up the fan to full blast. Close up all the windows (with the roof on). Poor soapy water over the edges of the targa top. Bubbles will form where the leaks are, take action at those points to fix.

Does anyone know about the front edge of the targa material needing to be pointing downward at a 45% angle? someone told me that if its not, it will create wind noise.
