Have I made a tragic mistake? HELP!!

Pelicans:

I fell in love with the boxter wheel. So I bought some used. I bought 4 6Jx16. What I got in the mail were 16's, but 2 6's and 2 7's.

I know that I need to get spacers, as these are 50mm offset and I own a 1976 912E (mid-year narrow body). I believe the stock Fuchs were 36mm offset. Both are a 5 x 130.

When I put one wheel on the hub, I have a wheel that seems to stick out a long way, and I only have about an inch left on the stub for the lugs. I am presuming that the 7's would need the lip rolled-hell, it looks as though I would need to roll the whole fender...

Does anyone have experience with these wheels on a narrow body. Have I made a terrible mistake?

Regards,
Bill
