Images on this BBS (editing & uploading)
I've seen several people addressing the whole image problem so many are having. Thought I would start my own thread on this.
If you are unable to purchase photoshop & use the save for web option try this: http://www.gimp.org/ It is free & will allow you to resize & export images. Keep in mind that for most of the stuff we look at on this board 500 to 600 pixels by 5 or 600 pixels is usually plenty large enough. Also, 60% jpeg quality is more than enough. There are a ton of images on the board that are using no compression & are rather large. If you are really anal about putting up a high quality image use 80% jpeg compression. I assure you 95% of the population can't tell the difference between 60% & 80%.
