Just got my PPI done, need help pricing
Well I need to get a SOLId price for a 87 911 targa as Im sure you guys have seen pics of it, heres a list of all the stuff the PPI showed it needing:
missing 3rd brake light shifter making "clunking" sounds in tunnel *clunking in cluth, busted rubber brake fluids need flush in near future trunk needs struts replaced parking brake needs adjustment needs trim at windows on door fan and ac do not work wheel bearings right front needs adjustment drive axle boots, will need both sides inner and outer soon left and righr chain housings are leaking bottom left and right side struts leaking oil line from case to thermostat leaking possible need of clutching releasing I wanted $12500, is that a reasonable price? Everything else is in good condition |
Mileage, leak down results, maintinence history, top end work done, previous wrecks?
Sounds like a low price for a g50, but what are the leak down numbers?
leak down test is being done tomorrow. Car has 101k miles on it. Car was hit in the parking lot when someone was backing up, dont have any maintence records, and not sure on top end work.
There are a lot of late 80's 911 Targas out there. This one seems to have lots of "issues" and Porsches with lots of issues get real expensive real fast. I can't tell you what this one is worth but I can tell you to be careful. You may be better off continuing your search. It is almost always better to spend more on the front end to get a quality car than it is to try to bring an average (or worse) car up to quality condition. You've heard the advise" Buy the best Porsche you can afford. Good luck.
Unless you are going to do all the work yourself and you just HAVE TO have this car, you can find one without so many issues and end up paying less than what it would take to buy this one cheap and fix it up. I say keep looking.
im actually selling it so thats why i needed to get a solid price to know what I should sell for.
Post some pics. $12K sounds like the ballpark price to me.
yeah I was thinking $12k was a fair price considering replacing all these parts wouldnt run you more than $1500-$2000 at the most. Pics are here:

I would say $3000 for what you stated, plus whatever for the paint job. $12K or less is about right. |
