passenger door lock issue
Hello all
The passenger door on my 87 could not be locked by key, when I tried to lock from the passenger side by key, only the driver side is lock. If I press the central lock, the passenger side lock OK. I also notice if the passnger side door not lock, then I can not lock by key from driver side Any suggest where to look for Thanks

First off are both your doors shut while you try your key? Sounds stupid, but if a door is open it won't lock.
Anyways, it sounds like it is in your passenger side door. I would take off the panel and see what's going on in there. It could be linkage came disconnected, something may need to be lubricated, or maybe your anti-lockout mechanism isn't working properly. Good Luck!

There are two little arms that attach to the back of the lock cylinder. They activate the lock/unlock features, and are, I believe, separate from the central lock (this explains why the button locks the door but the key does not). CHances are they need to be readjusted, and the screw that holds them to the cylinder needs to be tightened. It's not that difficult, but you have to make sure you adjust both of them to the correct positions. They are independent and it might take one or two shots.
Good luck.

There is also a little nylon piece that routinely breaks on the door rods for the automatic door opener. Check from lock to motor and make sure nothing is hiding from you. A little crack might not let it move far enough.
