Resistor or Non-Resistor sparkplugs?
I didn't get this question answered, '87 Carrera.
I've heard that sparkplug resistors can fail before the plug wears out, just like the resistors in the plug wires do. But would using a non-resistor type plug risk producing interference with the engine management system? |

Likely so. Have you experienced spark plug resistor failure?

Yes I have, it was with a Corvette CDI system, some of the resistor plugs just flat failed in about 3,000mi, the spark would arc from the terminal end to the cylinder head bypassing the plug entirely. I suppose the resistor plugs couldn't handle the high voltages? Don't most track performance cars use non-resistor plugs?
