Which pre '89 Fuchs wheels are still produced?

Just curious if anyone knows which pre '89 Porsche Fuchs are still produced and available as new today....if any. If available, is it only through a Porsche/dealership?

If one could bring two wheel configurations (finish, size, offset, etc) back which would they be?

What would you be willing to pay?

just curious......

Rick,

The greatest demand is for 16x9 and 15x7 911R offset "deep seven."

At the risk of really starting a fight... I think Fuchs would look great on a Boxster, and wish I could get 17s or 18s...

I'd like to know about this as well. On another thread it looks like 6x16 are still produced. My question would be why and for what application?

Don Z...in a recent issue of Excellence there was a response in the technical section about some company in OK using 6" Fuchs centers (the least expensive or desireable) mated to 17" rims of various widths. If I recall there was a pic of them mounted on a longhood RSR replica.

I'll see if I can dig up the issue..

Check out lindsey racing: http://www.lindseyracing.com/wheel2.htm

Here's a pic of my 8.5 & 10 X 17 3 piece Lindsey wheels. Cost is around 3k with shipping. Workmanship is incredible.

Thanks but this doesn't answer the original question.

True - sorry.

I know for a fact that you can still buy the 9x16 from Porsche. PN 911 362 119 00 $940.80 Don't know whether it's new old stock or a fresh casting. Hope this helps a little?

No apology needed...just didn't want to go off in a Fuch alternative tangent. The size you post seems to be the only one I've seen referenced before. Hopefully some more info will flow in. Thanks.

Fuchs are definitely still available from Porsche dealers - call around to the discount dealers that advertise in Excellence - I believe I was quoted less than $800 each for the 16x9's a few months ago. Said shipping would take about a month.

Wheel Enhancement had brand new 16" 7's, 8's and 9's a year or so ago when I talked to them.

From what I understand, Fuchs has periodic manufacturing runs of the wheels. The two 9x16's I bought had date stamps in 2003.

At the risk of commiting blasphemy and being flamed, I have to say I have never really thought Fuchs wheels were very good looking. I much prefer the BBS mesh wheels I see on later cars, and some of the Fikse wheels as well. Not the "cheap" looking BBS, I'm talking about the ones I see on a lot of track cars.
I apologize for not staying on topic with regard to the original question.

I was under the impression Fuchs stopped making those classic rims long ago. I might very well be misinformed though. They can still be bought, just not "freshly forged", as it were.

Once Stinky is 'done'... I'd really like a set of 15x7 Fuchs all around. I currently have knock-offs of 15x7 Fuchs, and they look great on the old girl.

take a look here and search for the numbers:

http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessoriesandservices/classic/classic-originalparts/originalparts-originalparts/

btw.
911362113 is 6x16
911362115 is 7x16,
911362117 is 8x16,
911362119 is 9x16 Fuchs alloy wheel

Than take a look at:

http://www.porsche.com/all/transitional/all/service/default.asp?market=germany&path=home/service/technics/originalparts

Sorry, it is the german Version in "Euro", couldnt find the same on the US site.???

But all 16" seems to be available (PRICES IN EURO)

91136211500 Leichtmetallrad 592,45 1
91136211590 Leichtmetallrad 574,68 1
91136211700 Leichtmetallrad 856,63 1
91136211900 Leichtmetallrad 639,74

some 15" also.

The site seems to be a good checkup, if parts are available.( for germany)
If its there, it is possible to order it, if not ..there is a small chance

Jo
