Question CIS test gage hookup?

I have performed the usual searches but am unable to locate the info I need. I have a CIS test gage and I'm trying to trouble shoot my 81SC.
Can someone point me in the right direction for diagrams or schematics on the hookup points for the various tests?

Much appreciation in advance!
Mark

I have a 88 turbo and I connected my guage by disconnecting the WUR - Fuel distributer line (The center one from the fuel distributer) at the WUR and connected the gauge inline with these two fittings with the shutoff valve on the WUR side.

If i don't make sense tell me and I'll go and take a picture

That makes good sense to me. I went back and reread the Bentley manual several times this afternoon...... things finally began to make sense.

My pressure seems good but after dismantling the filter, accumulator and injectors all contain particles that look like silt.
And lots of it! I just finished a tank with Techron and I wonder if I turned all this junk loose in the system?

Have to wait till my new filter arrives from Pelican. Looks like I'm down till Tuesday at least.

No problems, my car came back from the Middle Eastr and it had a LOT of silt in the tank / filter /accumulator. Having the tank removed and cleaned was easier and cheaper than I thought. To get my 930 running well I did the following

Cleaned Fuel Tank
Replaced fuel pump
Replaced Fuel Accumulator
Replaced fuel filter
Replaced 6 fuel injectors

The main culprit was the fuel injectors, they were not flowing well at all and the new injectors made a big difference.

I found a picture that might help you.
The hose end with the O-ring goes into the WUR.
The other hose end screws into the fuel head to WUR line. Be sure to use the existing copper washer or you'll take a gas bath!

mark, on my SC i connect the gauge at the fuel dist. it is just easier that way, and i can hang the gauge out of harm's way on the lid latch. doesnt really matter as long as the valve is on the WUR side of the guage. the best thing i did for myself and my CIS cars was to get that bosch CIS book written by watson. maybe $20, and it made a lightbulb go off in my head. nice drawings and photos for my bonehead side of the brain.

Vash,
Thanks for the heads up on the Watson book. I'm trying to track it down. I've hooked up my test gage like you recommended and recorded a cold test pressure of 2.2 bar. If I'm understanding right this seems to be in spec.

A kwik trip to Half Price books netted a Clymer shop manual, a Hayes for 65-75 911's and a Chilton manual that covers fuel injection (a chapter on CIS). Not a bad haul for $20.

I have also devised a method to clean my injectors in reverse so that the internal filter get flushed. I need to post pics and a description of my method. I think they will perform like new.

Mark
