Quick question >>>>

after looking at the engine, I noticed a small round black rubber plug, about the size of a dime. When the plug is removed there are 3 metal contacts. Can someone tell me what this is? Thanks in advance!

I think its only a test port to indicate TDC on the flywheel

refers to a mark that can be seen only with the engine running and normally with a timing light device on cars without a 'testing port'. provides information needed to properly set the engine's timing. do a search on 'timing' and you'll learn all about it..

TDC stands for Top Dead Center.

cgarr is correct, it is a diagnostic plug that connects to another speed sensor.
