Reverse light not working
My reverse light not working, removed the switch and there is no pin inside the transmission, try to install a new pin and looks like there is some kind of cap inside that does not let me put the pin in.
Any ideas of what is wrong or how to install the pin ? ![]() thanks Armando |

I think I've had the same problem. The pin is actually in there. And almost impossible to get out, unless you use a magnet. The pin is actuated by a dowel pin which is pressed into the axle that actuates the reverse. If that axle is twisted slightly, the dowel pin will miss the reverse light pin. The reverse light pin will not fall into the transmission. That is stopped by the fork that actuates the reverse gear.
Why the reverse light pin is not pressing against the fork rather than a tiny dowel pin I do not know. They are both on the same axle. I rather bluntly assumed that you have a 915 transmission. If you don't then I am afraid I cannot help.

Yes, it is a little messy. But if you are quick it is not that bad.

Thanks Pål,
you have got good eyes! I am Norwegian, but I left Stockholm a couple of months ago for Ålborg in Denmark. My car is in Stockhom though. Danish car taxes are worse than Norwegian!

Cool. So if the car is in Stockholm, how often will you be coming back up here?? I am also currently between Stockholm and Denmark, but in Copenhagen for 2-3 days a week... Let me know the next time you are in Stockholm!?!

I am going snowboarding for the Easter, so will not be back in town until Monday 17th. If you are still in town then how about a beer??
BTW, how good are you at locating oil leaks on a 911 engine ![]() ![]() ![]()

Beer sounds like a good idea, but I return to Ålborg on 16. I'll give you a pm next time I go to Stockolm.
About oil leaks, I guess I can find a few, why? If it is on your car, my first guess (without knowing anyting) would be the round steel cover under the oil sump.

Cool, give me a PM next time you are in town. On the leak front, yes it is my car, but it is from the top of the engine I think, and BIG

Ah, does the oil leak down on your right heat exchanger and make heaps of smoke?
It could possibly be one of these places. Oil seal between the engine mounted oil cooler, or oil seal at the oil pressure light switch. The switch can be a little difficult to get at.
