Porsche Crest "Le Tour de France"?!

I'm looking for any info about the "Tour de France" in the late 60ties/early 70ties and the 911s in this series. Never heard of this race before. Was it only across France? Race tracks, street or rally? What classes, drivers, cars?

I have not found a good source for information yet - not to mention any web sites, books etc...

Thanks for any help!

Tour de France is known as a bicycle race.
The Rally of France is known as the Tour de Corse (Corsica).

I think the most known T.d.F - 911 was this ST in shell colors:

I based my racecar on the 1969 Tour de France winner, a 911R. all the graphics are not totally correct, but...............

You won't go far in that search before you come across the lightest factory 911 driven by Gerard Lerousse. The Autofarm car pictured was not the exact car Larousse used in 1970, but apparently it was built to the same spec.

Amazingly he came in second, to a prototype like a Matra 620.

My understanding was that the "Tour De France" was essentially a week long rally (if not longer). It travelled pretty much non-stop from venue to venue. Each venue was either a special stage, a hill climb or a track event. The winner had the lowest combined time or something like that. Larousse actuallly won the event in 1969 in a 911R as modelled in this picture.

And then for real...

Tour de france automobil is now known as tour auto. i ran the last 2. basically you spend a week driving across france on "b" roads with about 250 other cars. every day you have 1 or 2 special stages, or hillclimbs, as well as a race on a circuit (lemans, ledenon, po, etc) it trulyis an amazing week...they had to change the name when they resurrected the race in the late 80s early 90's because thebike body complained

"The Autofarm car pictured was not the exact car Larousse used in 1970, but apparently it was built to the same spec."

Well.. the 71 car had a 2.4 in it that Meznarie prepared. With Barth driving it was doing very well till the flywheel came off < a common problem found on the 2.4 and 2.7 when buzzed at high rpm a lot. The picture shown is of the 2001 Tour Auto edition when my brother and car owner, Jeff Lewis, co drove.
The modern Tour Auto does not have all the elements of the original, but the hill climbs, auto tests, and races are all very real and usually are very competitive. Of course there are the gourmet meals here and there that are part of the tour
