PM me, email me, or post pls on this Turbo.

I am very interested in pursuing the car. Does anyone know this car? Any feedback?

I think the Board's rule is that we could still discuss cars for sale. If not, my apologies to Noah and Wayne. Either one could delete this thread.

1987 911 Turbo

Anyway, here it is:

1987 911 Turbo. $23,950. 113K miles. No records thus the price. However, dont let the fact that there are no records steer you away. This car is very clean and in great mechanical shape. Have it checked out if you want. In fact, I would prefer you do. You'll be very hard pressed to find another turbo in this color combo and in this condition for the money. I am selling only because I have 2 other turbos and no room. Color is Diamond Blue with Dark Navy Blue Interior. Factory options would be full leather interior (less dash), limited slip, dual 8 way power seats. Car is all original, completely stock, no accidents, clear CARFAX, no repaint and clear title. New tires, 4 wheel alignment and clear smog. Only thing not working in car are a couple of the seat switches. They do work but are sporadic. A/C could use a recharge. Everything else works and functions normally. Seeing is believing. Located in Tracy, California. (209) 814-3486

I bought my '86 930 with 119,000 miles for $22,000 four years ago. That was wholesale trade-in value at the dealer where the seller was "dumping" it for a new 996TT. He was friends of the family, and I got wind of the sale and jumped in before he handed the keys over.

The difference was, my car had full records (from the dealer). Yes, more than $30K of receipts where I could track every time the oil was changed, a relay was replaced, or the wastegate rebuilt. The car was driven daily, so the mileage never bothered me. I didn't do an inspection, I just took a chance based on my personal knowledge of the owner, and the receipts.

In any case, I still spent about $5K putting new shocks, hoses, belts, and misc wear items (tires, brakes, etc...) on it after I purchased it.

Now, my car has 135,000 on it and it has still never been opened up (the engine, not the throttle!). It runs like a champ.

The miles on the car you are looking at don't scare me.

I'd be worried about a car with no records - just too many possibilites. If you still want to proceed, get a detailed inspection to see if you can reconstruct some history (age of the turbo, last valve adjustment, clutch age...). A turbo. A clutch. Valve adjustment... all get very, very, expensive....

What you don't know could be very scary.

I looked at an 86 930 Guard's Red w Black recently with 52k miles documented (2) owners w clean title.

Clean Car Fax, only limited records but recent turbo.

It is $30k plus, which is the going price for a very clean example around here.

$23k for yours is not bad, considering the unique color, especially if it passes a PPI.

If you wait for the perfect one you may wait a long, long time.

Buy it & enjoy it.

You are not the only one interested in this car. Check out this thread from page 1.
