Tangerina Jolie with some (borrowed) new shoes
Special thanks to Rob Dickinson for lending me his beautiful RSR finish 15X8's done by Harvey Wiedman. I borrowed both his front wheels to put on one side of my car for the pics.
What do you all think?

MMM. Looks cool but I think I like the 16x7s better. It might look a little better in person. The ride hieght is also set for the 7s right? It does give the car a whole new look though.

Yeah, the tires on Rob's wheels are shorter, so it makes the car look like it sits higher.

IS the plan to lower it? Looks like a little rubbin will be happenin if you go too low. Like the Yoks, LOL. Are those the semi race ones that everyone says are very noisy?

Well, I just wanted to see how things would fit. If I have a set done for my car, I think I'd run 195's in front, and maybe even rear.
I really dig the stance of Rob's car, but he's got RS flares in back, and real RSR 15X9's in back. I wanted to emulate his car, but in narrow body by running the 8's front and rear.

Not bad but I think a set of 951 8x16"s would be the ticket. :-
The H1's are nice.

Tyson, I have a set of 951 8's for sale. You should shoehorn those in the back like Ingo's car...I'll make you a deal!

Tyson, What size Avon tires are on the 8x15 Fuchs that you're test fitting in the pics? Perhaps 205/50/15's? -Scott |

It looks evil!
You know, with the chrome trim and sleeper look of the car, I wonder how polished wheels would look? But sure is mean looking!

I love the look of the wheels...but the low profile tires give a look of too much air in the fenderwells...but if you don't go low profile tires, those 8's will probably rub like crazy, especially the way Tyson drives!
Always a trade-off...and compromise.

I like! But can you drive in the real world with that much wheel on that chassis?
If you want 7s and 8s by 15, my set is coming back to your shop from bead blasting in the next couple of days. $850 takes 'em all.

Very Cool Tyson !!
I'm actually looking for a set of 7x15 Fuchs. Right now I'm using 7x15 Cookie Cutters with 225 45 all the way around. GREAT for Auto-X but I'm wondering if 225 might be a bit much up front for DE ??? I'm running -2 degrees camber rear and about -1.8 up front. 225(s) fit well on a 7" wheel. Does the 8" offer a performance benefit other than more weight over a 7" wheel ? I do like the deep look ! You could fit more rubber (greater than 225) on an 8" but I think that would just bog my 2.2 motor down more than help grip ? edit: Plus I think the low profile tires on the 15" wheels have the added performance benefit of helping lower 2nd gear to where it is much more user friendly at low speed with my 901 tranny. I don't mess with trying to grind into 1st at low speed. (Street tires are 205 50 mounted on 6x15 Fuchs) Gratuitous photos to follow...

Tyson, you nailed it. The finish offsets the body color and the black tire accents nicely. I have always been a fan of the RSR finish, it is just so slick. The flairs almost perfectly match the spacing of the wheels. Box it and ship it bud.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!
I should have washed the wheels before the pics. They are filthy with brake dust. I have already installed a set of 951 8X16's on my '69. I don't want 16's on this car, and the whole idea behind the 8X15's is to give it the deep RSR look. I think all it would need would be slightly narrower tires that are slightly taller, and a little lowering. The car never got properly settled after I dropped off the jack. Also maybe a little more negative camber.
