1975 911 Removing CA Emission stuff

I am a recent new owner of a 75 911 from Arizona (CA) with a few questions about the emissions stuff on the car. No emission testing here in Michigan, so I think I can get rid of all this stuff.. The pics below show the air pump and the exhaust setup. Is it safe to pull all the air pump and all the tubes from the top side? Also, not sure what is on there now for muff/heat exchangers, 75 prod or ???.. Anyway, should I update the muffler/heat exchanger setup for the long term to stainless or pre 1974? Since it had a recent full rebuild, I want to make it run as cool as possible to make it last. I also thru in a few pics of the new ride.

Thanks in advance.

The main thing to get rid of are the thermal reactors (if they are there, doesn't look like it) and replace with heat exchangers from a 74 or SSI's. I'm not clear on whether you need thick flange headers (someone chime in).

You can leave the tubes or block the holes. You can take the belt off, too, but the pump will eventually freeze up due to no rotation and all that gunk going inside. The thing is, as you remove stuff, you need to attend to the holes that are now open to the atmosphere.

It looks like he already has early style exhaust.

The third photo is the blower for your heater. You can remove it, but you need the early style ducts from the fan shroud to the heat exchangers if you want heat, or block off plates if you don't. Do a search for "heater backdate" for details. You should also search for "remove air pump".

Mark,

I agree, it appears you already have the ’74 exhaust heat
exchangers. It also appears they may be less than perfect
condition. Note the gap (yellow arrow).

You should carefully document and save all the pieces you
remove. Someone someday might need them. It is better
to remove the air pump than leave it non-operational on
the engine. Turning it with a little Marvel Mystery Oil will
help preserve it in a big Ziploc.

Best,
Grady
