Window Switch?

Hi Guys,
Just bought an 83 Cab, and have some questions. On the drivers side door, there are (3) switches that all look the same. I know one of them works the drives electric window, the other works the passenger window, but what is the last on for? They all look the same.

Also, the passenger window switch was not working, so I bought a new one. It looks completely different than the others. The ones in the car are more like flat button swithces, and the new one looks like the ones I see here on the site. Did the 83 Cab have different window switch styles?

Thanks,

The '83 cab used the same window switch as the coupe and the targa, p/n 911.613.621.02, which has been superceded to 911.613.621.03. There should be two of them on the door. Perhaps the previous owner added an aftermarket kit to enable one-touch operation of the windows. I've seen this before and there is usually another switch added. If it doesn't seem to operate anything, you'll have to trace the wiring and see where it goes.

Hi, and thanks for the quick info. I guess I will need to replace all the switches so they will all be the same. Does the electric power antenna for the radio have a switch, or is it automatic?

The original power antenna for the car would have been automatic, and would have operated when the radio was powered on or off. The antenna on your car may have been changed over the years. A factory power antenna would be mounted in the right fender. A factory manual antenna would be mounted in the left fender.
