Converting oil line routing to adapt 92` turbo engine Help !

Im in the process of installing a 1992 turbo engine into my 82` SC . The sc has the original cooler lines in addition to a B&B large capacity fender mounted cooler.
I bought an oil tank from a 1989 930 so i have the oil return line from the turbo.
Problem is the 92` turbo motor does not use an engine mounted oil cooler and its original line fittings and lengths are completely different than the oil tank and oil thermostat .
Question is do I backdate the engine(add a cooler) or update the car using the 965 tank and line(dont have those). Anyone installed one of these engines in an earlier car ?
