Where do I buy weld on rear sway bar drop link balls?

I am adding a rear swaybar to a car that never had one and need to weld on those ball joint things to the banana arms. Where can I buy them?? Early steel arms by the way.

It seems like it would be available from other sources as well; I'd guess it is a standard size ball and socket coupling. I just did a quick search on McMasterCarr, but, not knowing the exact size or description, was unable to find anything.

Shouldn't be too tough to whip one out on the CNC lathe and have it hardened, but I'd guess you can find them at an industrial supply house for less than ten bucks each.

If anybody can snap a quick picture and put a caliper around the O.D. and tell me what size it is (+/- a couple of thou would be good), I'll check with some different suppliers and see what I can come up with.

I've got a '72T that came from the factory with no sways, so I've been contemplating this (and gathering parts for my suspension refresh) for a month or so.

Yes on my receipt from Porsche they call it a hinge pin #901 331 571 07
I actually have them so it is the correct part.

Wow, that's great news!

We tried to get them a while back, and they were NLA.

But Porsche has been very strange lately with things becoming unavailable, then available, then not. Early dashes for example. I Hope you guys are right. I'll get my parts guy to order some up for me tomorrow.

I switched over to those on the SP to get adjustable links. It hung down too low for my liking. But, it was better than the plastic cup bushing that slipped off when I really pushed it and hit any bumps like a berm in a corner.

I think the later bolt through type for the swing arm would be better. Can these be installed on the steel arms? Are there little shorty adjustable drop links for that setup? That's the way I'd like to go next time.

I was wondering the same thing. I thought I read one time that you could retrofit the later swing arm attachment to the early arms. I could not see a way to get it off my steel arms, maybe they are removable on the 74 alum arms??

Zeke are you saying you can take a stock rear bar and switch to SP mounted links to get adjustable links? Or do you have to change the bar also?

I am a cheapo to, I thought you were wondering if there was "any way" to mount a bar back there period :-))

NO bar change. Just switch over the drops to the differnent style. The "clamps" are what hung down low below the bar. I adjusted the links to be short as possible; it's still not the opitimum set up.
