Thanks Mitch PS... I sprayed some of this color (code 213) this weekend and it seems to be brighter than I have seen.... Make note on the posted pics of the dif. colors. ![]() ![]() ARE BOTH OF THESE DARK IRISH GREEN....???? !!!!

I'm no expert. But the top picture is definitely Irish Green.
(And by the way, Porsche Irish Green is much lighter than the Jaguar British Racing Green of the 1960's which you may be thinking of because you keep using the word "dark" in your question) I don't think the second picture is Irish Green. You might want to post this question on the Early 911S Registry site. You will quickly have an index of every green Porsche ever made between 1965 and 1973.

The Color Code name is Dark Irish Green...
I have found these pics on the early911s registry and have emaile in reference to these pics but no response. As for primer color.. I suspect the darker the color the darker the Green will look. Joseph... do you have any photos of your car in normal Daylight that you could post?

Mitch -- I think the Irish Green color variation is due to a variety of things --
1.) We're all trading jpegs that are being viewed on monitors with different brightness and color mixtures. 2.) Irish Green is one of those colors that can appear slightly different in intensity depending on where and when the jpeg is shot. 3.) Then you've got paint fade. Is the paint original or a respray? When was it resprayed? What kind of paint was used at the time? Etc. Do a search on the early 911S registry site. (There's this fellow in Oregon with the cleanest, most original Irish Green 911S on planet earth who regularly posts pictures of his car so we can all be jealous. ![]()

hey Sandy... my car is not originally Irish Green.... I am respraying it w/ this color. I am just hoping that the color appears darker than some of the other "irish green" cars that I have seen.
After spraying my engine compartment it Doesn't seem as "deep" as the first targa I posted a pic of. however I really think it has to do w/ the overcast day the picture was taken of... Anyone have Pics of Irish Green in Bright sunlight? tHANKS SANDY AND OTHERS FOR THE POSTS!

The First and Third pic you posted sure seem different ... I suppose only because of the lighting. I find that it looks much better in the first pic... but thats just my opinion... Seems much darker.... Thanks for the POSTS!

The second photo you have posted is the one I have painted my car with , it has more "yellow" color than the first one so it does not look as darker , I remember the code from my car being : 6806 for a 1968, fortunately when I painted my car the Inner Sheet Metal Door Panels has still the original color of the Factory intact so I had a good color to match sample to work with. I propose the same to you : Find out the original color in your doors and starts with it.

Here's another shot of mine in brighter light. As you can see the color changes. At night it becomes a rich organic black.
