Alternator shaft diameter/thread?
A friend is trying to get a long-neglected '72 engine started.
Among other problems, it appears the alternator nuts are stripping when he tries to put them on with the pulley, spacers, etc. Anyone know what the shaft diameter and thread are for a '70s alternator (S.E.V. Marchal, probably)? (next problem will be to find a die/thread chaser for that shaft...)

I *believe* they are M16mm x 1 pitch.......for these years ( at least around 1974+)...went to M17 x 1.5 in the early 80's
Might be best to get a double-check on this...I'm only 90+% on this. - Wil
