German perlon or German Sliver knit carpet

I have a 1973 2.4S. I am considering to change the carpet in the car because there has been a rollcage installed previously and there are holes for the screws. Do you guys now if the "S" came with just one kind or carpet or was there options for this to? What should the correct standard carpet fabric be,German perlon or German Sliver knit carpet?

My '72S came w/ perlon, my '76 C3 came w/ silver knit, both are nice, silver knit a little posher, but if you are hard core enough to want a roll bar then the light weight RS felt might be a better way to go.

I will go for Perlon then. The previous owner installed the rollbar, I wont it to be 100% original(he won the Porsche slalom cup, Porsche Club of Norway, with this car last year) Thank you Bill !!!

Correct spelling is SLIVER, not silver.

I have now found out that in 1972-1973 the T, and E was delivered with Perlon and that the S was delivered with Velour. I am not sure if the T and E could have Velour as an option. Do any of you people in here now where I can buy velour carpet set as close to the original as possible?
