rear sway bar mounts--Wevo or factory
I need to replace my rear sway bar mounts. The car will be primarily a street car, with the very occasional DE or auto-x. Will the updated factory mounts be adequate? Would the Wevo mounts be over-kill? Has anyone posted a step-by-step for this job?
Thanks

I replaced my cracked factory mounts with Wevos this winter. I did not even consider the updated factory mounts.
The procedure is straightforward and has been documented here. Do a search on Tyson's name.

Original factory mounts had a design flaw and will just crack again.
Mine were replaced with a redesigned part with added reinforcement which should eliminate the orginal problem. Don't think they were Wevo but were about $70 EACH. |

My factory mounts have been fine since '92. DEs, races, and auto-xs throughout each Summer. Maybe they are about to break but they don't look like it.
That said, unless the difference is in the hundreds, it would be worth going with the better/updated setup if you have to do it anyway... |

The design of the Wevo mounts is what the factory should have used in the first place. I had a set welded onto my targa and they are impressive.

I'm just about to do this myself. I got the Wevos and they look bombproof. I'll never have to do it again.

Does pelican carry the Wevo mounts? I tried a search and nothing came up.

I just did a search and couldn't find the factory or the Wevo mounts either. I ordered mine from Elephant Racing.

PP doesn't carry them. Not sure why.

I have the Wevo mounts that I will be putting in when the engine goes back in the car. Both of the original mounts were welded once and are ether cracking again or the bolt mounts are cracking. The factory updates only add a back brace to the mount. They are still just stamped steel parts not cast like the Wevo. Give PP a call they should be able to get them.
