I'm going to replace my brakes this weekend, do the pistons gets pushed right back into the cylinder? I know some brake pistons out there have to be turned/rotated while pushing them back into the cylinder.

push right back...
..I'm not sure , however, if they have the 20 degree angle orientation needed like the 2 -puck designs. If they do, you only need to "rotate" if they've rotated out of spec. Wil

The ones that have to be turned back in are the ones used as a parking brake in addition to primary brake.
Audi rears for one are set up that way.

Getting the "bail" that holds the pads in place into the open position .can be fun. I use a regular type slip joint pliers and pinch the bail so that it "shrinks" and then you kinda have to force it past the retaining plate.
If you plan on reusing your sensors...don't as they will probably crack and break. Like Will said, just push the pistons back in. Good Luck

Interesting note from Bill V..... Eagle Talon Gen 1 ( aka Mitsu Eclipse) rear brakes are that way too...they rotate to screw back in and the "main" pucks are for parking brake duties, too....
...small world ! .... Wil

Lots of 80's and 90's VW rears like that too. There is a worm drive that pushes the pads out when you pull the e-brake....
Cheers

George,
I'm 99.99% sure you already know this but.... just remember to watch the level of your brake fluid...if you topped it off before changing pads, you may have too much in there. It's makes a heck of a mess if you don't remove a bit before pushing your caliper pistons in. (don't ask) Cheers!

Thank's Mike, I was about to remove the wheels today when I broke the key to the lock lug nuts. I guess I tighten them too much at my last track event after watchign someone loose a wheel during one of the turns. This progect has been posponed till Tuesday
