I was attempting to lift a heavy object into the back floor when the handle on it came loose and the corner dented my door sill. Aside from being demoralized, I would like to see if I can at least fix it cosmetically. There is a rubber cover on the sill that looks glued on, and I was wondering if anyone has experience R/R it. Also, what adhesive to use? As far as a replacement, I can't find the rubber cover in the Porsche parts catalog, only what appears to be the sill, which appears to be # 930 503 401 05. I suppose that means the rubber cover is glued on at the factory. Any ideas? If I can get it loose I could fill the dent with filler and re-glue the cover, which would make a big difference.

Here's what you need to get to replace your door sill mat:
http://www.appbiz.com/product_info.php?cPath=35&products_id=77 The old one is held on with rubber glue the new ones uses 3M two-sided trim tape. AppBiz.com is a very good source I've used personally and would recommend their products. |
