911 Torsion Bar Re-indexing and Lowering

Does someone know a link to information on re-indexing the rear torsion bars on a 911?

I want to lower my 86 turbo look targa and I'm looking for step by step info if it's available someplace. I've searched the forum and have found bits and pieces of what I need, I'm just hoping to find it all in one place.

THANKS!

Well, you probably just need some experience with the search page. It's not Google, so you need to learn the ropes.

1. You need to put "AND" or "+" between search terms.
2. For search terms less than 3 characters (eg. "H4"), place a "*" after the term (e.g. H4*) to get all the results.
3. Get ready to wade thru the results. As far as rear t-bars, it's all in there, been done and discussed many, many times.

Here is my own ride height and corner balance story: Home ride height and corner balance success story

Try searching for "rear AND torsion AND bar AND adjust*"

Here's a link to what I used when I did mine...

http://rennlight.com/howto/torsion/index.html

It also has the angle calculator to help you set your springplate.

Wildwood is as far west in St Louis County as you can get. Just North of Six Flags if you know where that is. Nelly is my neighbor

Kurt V is in Jeff City. A few of us are planning a Mid/East MO W/Ill gathering soon. Kurt V and Wavey are coming, maybe a few others. It'd probably be near the wineries (Augusta Brewery?/ Herman).

Interested?
