For those who asked about...........

OK, some of you know I bought the 84 Euro Carrera Cab, and stated the marker lights were missing. It had been bugging the crud out of me, tonight I have an answer. It looks like when the car was federlized, the importer covered up the hole and welded a 2x3 piece of metal on the inside of fender, and then painted the two ft fenders. Damn good job as in the sun there is not a sign of the color mis-matching. The light and harness was laying on the inside of fender tucked up and away. I happened to have two of the new side marker lamps from my 78 SC I never used and got busy tonight. There were a few scary moments as I was grinding the welds off from inside the fender and was watching the whole fender move. I thought I was done for a couple of times but removed the plate, did not leave a scratch on the car and here is the end result. Sorry about the poor quality as I took these with my camera phone in the garage.

Now, I can rest as my heart was pounding as I was grinding and drilling on my Porsche.

You looking for confirmation that you are nuts? Yes, you are crazy.

Looks nice though.

Nice to see you solved the mystery and corrected it as well. Looks nice. Now you need to put the rear amber turn signals back on to make it complete. I'm jealous, mine is a US model that I have been slowly converting to euro spec. I was wondering what my car would look like with the side markers. Your color is very similar to mine. Anyway, nice car.

Dave
