Re: Separating engine from transaxle?
I am trying to separate my 2.4 engine from the transaxle (915) but they won't separate more than 1/2 inch or so. What gives? Is it just a matter of finding the right angle or am I missing something?
Thanks, Steve |
Steve,
I suspect your clutch arm is hitting something (oil pipe?) Take the circlip off and remove the arm (bottom side of transmission). Best, Grady |
I will look around some more as well as give that a try.
Thanks, Steve |
I agree with Grady...I got caught by that one a few years back.

I agree. Had the same problem with my tranny. Most books/manuals do not mention that you have to take off the clutch lever, but seems depending in which position it is fitted it might be necessary. Doesn't hurt anyway.

mark the position of the arm before you remove it so you know how to re install
