WUR Adjustable
Anyone out there that can make my WUR adjustable. I see the instructions/prints, but I just don't quit get it...thought maybe someone would be in business to do this mod.

I've been itching to modify my and fully document it. I've not a little used drill press int he garage, that I'll put into action...wait a couple of weeks maybe?
Since I am now running with an 81+ WUR in my 78 engine, I've got a little more motivation to get my stock WUR reconditioned, modified and back in my car. |

I did it. It surely was adjustable for cold pressure. It's just that my heating element was shot and it always ran poorly in the warm up phase until I got a wur from Pelican (superceded from original PN). I think the engine eventually warmed up the bimetallic heating element after about 8 min.
I think you break the heating element when you "whack on the plunger". The green insulation paint was cracked and chipped when I took the old one apart. If there are aftermarket heating elements then I would have a spare. If I had to go back in time- Buy a new one!

This guy posted on the Rennlist 930 board a couple of weeks ago. He says it runs $300 to clean it up and make it adjustable:
Hello, I offer the service of making your 930 WUR fully adjustable. I rebuild the unit and modify it, adding adjustment features for the cold, warm, and full-throttle enrichment control pressures. I also provide a means of adjusting the full-throttle enrichment threshold (the point at which the WUR enriches based upon manifold pressure). All of the adjustment hardware used is high quality stainless steel for longevity without rust or corrosion. Before shipping it back to you, I can set your WUR to exact factory specs or whatever settings you desire. If you provide me your engine details, I can offer my suggestions for custom control pressure settings and set the unit accordingly. A 12 page color instruction sheet is included with each unit that details each adjustment feature and documents your particular WUR settings. Please contact me for more information.
