Is this a valid 911 engine number?
Can someone confirm if this is a valid engine number, and if so what engine type 6631017?????
|
OK, so I have managed to identify it as a possible 2,7 rs engine. What would a version in unknown state be worth??

1973 RS 2.7, 3rd run [batch ]

Is this a special engine?

Most fans of MFI would say it is a very special engine ... a 911/83.

I have found one for sale here in Sweden in an unknown condition from someone who knows nothing about engines or Porsches, for a very low price (approximately $600)!!!
|
how does an engine like that even fall into the hands of someone who knows nothing about a car like that! It's such an enthusiasts car that it's hard to believe. I would buy it in a heartbeat so long as it is what it's an RS engine. Is the priceless RS MFI still on it? Pix would be awesome.

A CIS 2.7 longblock is worth $700 - $1000.
This is worth substantially more. You'd be smart to buy it no matter what condition it's in. The case itself is worth the money...IF it truly is an RS case. |
Buy it sight unseen, I can assure you if it is a real RS motor you will double your money in the same day at the absolute very least, I will give you 1200 for it sight unseen, if it really is what the numbers say! :)
