OK, so I have managed to identify it as a possible 2,7 rs engine. What would a version in unknown state be worth??

Most fans of MFI would say it is a very special engine ... a 911/83.

Does Howdy Doody have wooden balls? J/k, But I'd say the engine to one of Porschephiles most cherished and what some consider to be the Holy Grail of 911 models, yeah I'd say pretty darned special. Unknown condition? I'd have a VERY reputable shop pull it apart and go through it with a fine toothed comb.

I have found one for sale here in Sweden in an unknown condition from someone who knows nothing about engines or Porsches, for a very low price (approximately $600)!!!

how does an engine like that even fall into the hands of someone who knows nothing about a car like that! It's such an enthusiasts car that it's hard to believe. I would buy it in a heartbeat so long as it is what it's an RS engine. Is the priceless RS MFI still on it? Pix would be awesome.

A CIS 2.7 longblock is worth $700 - $1000.

This is worth substantially more. You'd be smart to buy it no matter what condition it's in. The case itself is worth the money...IF it truly is an RS case.

Buy it sight unseen, I can assure you if it is a real RS motor you will double your money in the same day at the absolute very least, I will give you 1200 for it sight unseen, if it really is what the numbers say!

Cheers
