Who makes the best fiberglass
I am going to purchase a Ruf Front bumper this week, but I cannot decide who to purchase from. The prices vary greatly from Rennspeed at $325, Betterbodies at $475 and Getty Design at 525. I know you get what you pay for, but each company claims their stuff is the best. How abut some help with who to go with.

I like the Ducktail I got from Rennspeed....my brother also got a ducktail for his 993 that is very nice quality...no matter who you use there will need to be prepwork done on the fiberglass parts to make them look and fit properly...by the way...Rennspeed makes most of the parts for one of the higher priced names you mentioned.....so its not always....you get what you pay for....if I ever decide to backdate my car further I will be using Rennspeed again for those parts as well

Thanks for the info. I thought that Rennspeed would be my choice, but I didn't want to influence the comments

Even more ironically is that Company A might sell Company B's product, but with a tidy markup.
MA Shaw is regarded as one of the best, but also the priciest. Any fiberglass part you buy will need some work to fit your car, so you're better off taking they slight savings on the purchase price and give it to your bodyshop guy. FWIW, I've been getting my stuff from RennSpeed.

I have no personal experience with his products...but I've heard nothing but good about Brad at BW Motorsports. I don't think he has a website but has a full page ad in Excellence. I'm not sure but I think he is now doing the Ruf front bumper in polyurethane which would be by first pick.
Whatever you buy, be prepared for it to need some minor cosmetic detailing and fit up adjustments out of the box. It has been my limited experience that the majority of the aftermarket fiberglass is decently made but is by no means a factory fit up.

As Thom points out, most of the vendors are reselling most of the same pieces -- while encouraging the idea that you'll get better fit from 'their' higher-priced fiberglass. I also buy from Rennspeed.
