New CHT sensor install problems

Anyone else ever have problems threading in the new CHT ? Yesterday I removed my old sensor and spent almost an hour trying to get the new sensor to thread in. I have read this article...Head Temperature Sensor Replacement everything is as described in the article however I am unable to get the new 2 wire sensor to thread in.

I am wondering if the thread size might be different, they look the same however.. but the old sensor was 13mm and the new size is 14mm, but like I said the thread size looks identical....

any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Can you *gently* thread a tap in the threads? Use lots of lube and go easy.
