Question SC engine lubrication system question

Bentley SC Repair Manual 170-2 shows a weird schematic.
Notice the cams; they are not SC cams.
Also, it doesn't show the "S" hose connected to the cooler.
What gives?
Does anyone have a way to show for the right SC-schematic?

Much appreciated.

Gunter,

That is a diagram from the Bentley 3.2 Carrera manual, which was written before the SC manual ... carried over without corrections!

Hi Warren:
O.K. but, the cams shown only have 3 main bearings; the Carrera cams have 4 just like SC's. (Cams are the same for SC and Carrera)
Also, does a Carrera not have an "S" hose?
The mistery deepens.

Gunter,

I never said it was an accurate diagram ...

Well, at least they showed the oil pickup in the sump with a fixed, rounded screen ...

As I have reported here many times ... the Bentley Carrera manual has hundreds of errors in it ... the SC manual has most of those same errors, and dozens more, too!

Randy,

One of the first I noticed in the Carrera manual is the drawing on p. 400-2 for the front suspension & steering ... deja vu ... it's 1969 again, and the hydropnematic struts and 'S' calipers are BACK!!!

I just replaced my SC parking brake cables and shoes. The drawing used by Bentley as a reference was mirror image...what they called left was really right. I recall seeing more, but exactly what they were escapes me at the moment.

Guys: Thanks but.....................the purpose of the thread is not to discuss the many mistakes in the Bentley but to find a correct lubrication schematic for SC's.
Any leads for that?
Thanks.

Does this help? May not be model specific...

Ugh. Where are the 1972 oil line diagrams on Pelican?

No Pat, but thanks for trying.
The early lubrication system is quite different from SC's.
I suspect that the system shown in the Bentley SC Manual is for an early 911 as is the one in the Haynes manual.
Still need the correct SC schematic.

I tried, Doctor.
I can make a diagram, but I'm afraid you'll have to wait two months when I tear down my SC engine. Did you look on the PCA website? They have some stuff like that buried in their archives somewhere.
