9mm spacer on 3.2 Carrera with 8J Fuchs Question::

Want to use some 9mm spacers on the rear of my 3.2 Carrera to fill out the 8J wheel. The ones I have are flat aluminum. Q: Do I need extra long bolts or use the existing bolts do you guys think i'll be okay? Cheers

As far as I remember when I searched on this 7mm was the max that should be used without fitting longer studs - adding longer studs makes it an expensive extra 2mm that im not sure you would notice anyway. Other people suggested counting how many turns you get with your lug nuts - cant remember how many was suggested to be the minimum, you will have to search for that

I think I recall that the rule of thumb is the amount of "purchase" on the stud should equal the diameter. I have used 6mm spacers (1 per wheel) for years w/ the original studs

I used 6mm with the orginal studs like Paul without problems. I think 6/7 mm is max with original studs. Bump for Bill V. he will now

I agree that you'll need longer studs with anything over 6mm. I comtemplated this issue also awhile back. I ended using 25mm hubcentric spacers with my 8js. Very full looking. I get just a little rub on the drivers side with a big bump. I personally think that about 12mm or half inch is perfect.
