'73 911 with mid mounted 8.2L Cadillac V8, well finished!!!

You've just got to see this to believe it. Did an engine transplant from a Cadillac El Dorado with a 8.2L 500 cubic inch Cadillac V8! Check out the custom "Porsche 8.2L" valve covers!

http://69.232.17.77/porsche/

I'm just amazed at the time put into this beast. Wonder how that thing handles? Sure it's mid-engined, but the suspension isn't set up for that. Too bad this guy didn't put his fabricating talents to better use!

For sale for $25,000 here:

Hi there Porschefans;

I'm stupified. I could pay a compliment on the workmanship, but I'm afraid it's going to sound a bit like "....but at least he had great Autobahns built!".

Just what everyone wants; a 911 with a GMC motor-home automatic transmission and a big lump of metal at the CG. I bet he could even put a John Deere 2-cylinder "popping johnny" tractor engine in a 911. But why?

Can't view all the photos but an automatic transmissioned 73 Targa with impact bumpers doesn't sound like a good ride no matter what the powerplant is. Who wants an auto in their 911?

Way cool. I'd take it over a stock 912.

And what's up with POSTIVE rear camber? OK, maybe not positive, but in some of those shots, it doesn't look very good.

A lot of work though.....

A stock 912 likely handles better; horsepower offsets weight but only if you drive in a straight line.

I've got an idea! How about a 911 with a V12 Caterpillar diesel engine with all the hydraulic lines and a big 'ol bucket up front so we can tear down houses. We'd be the only ones on the planet with a Destructo-Porsche!

Hooray for workmanship but when does common sense come into play?

Gotta disagree. With that big V8, a coupe would be real hot!

This is not my "cup of tea" but I just have to admire the workmanship. Keep on marching to your own drummer. The world needs more creative people!

So many wrongs =

1st 73 converted to impact bumbers
2nd waterpumper
3rd auto

with the positive camber looks like a dog humping a football.

I'm impressed. From the pics it doesn't look much different than any other mid year car.

I see classic looking luggage in the back, or maybe that's just a clever way of hiding the new firewall.

I'm betting that the reason it's sitting like that is becaus when he puts it in "Drive" it squats and goes into neg camber.

Good grief, ever hear of thumbnails and jpeg compression?

I agree but creative people need to advance technology....not make it backa$$wards. If he has that much time, why not find a cool, efficient, and modern powerplant to wedge in there?

>>Who wants an auto in their 911?

Approximately 60% of new 911 buyers order the Tiptronic

A guy this nuts could only live in Southern California.

Great - what's next? A V16 Merlin in a beetle? Maybe a GE 58,000lb thrust turbojet in a Winnebago. Honestly, it almost leaves me speechless. Almost. I once saw a 427 big block trike in a Wheeler-Dealer circular; there seems to be no end to people's creativity - err, foolishness. To each his own. Maybe the what the world really needs is a nuclear-powered Coleman stove. Now THAT would cook some damn bacon-n-eggs.
